Good breakdown, but the rest could be smoother
Good breakdown of nutrients, which is what I got it for, but everything else is frustrating. Cant add a previously eaten meal, and Im tired of having to scan a bar code for a food that I scanned earlier the same day (I guess I have to remember to add EVERY single thing I scan to Favorites? Sigh). VERY tedious.
Also frustrating when Im already viewing a meal for the day, trying to log food (I stay up/work late), and its past midnight so it automatically logs the meal to the "current" day (which is a new day for me). If Im viewing Saturday, and logging food, it shouldnt be logging it for Sunday! It would be helpful to just change the day that a food is logged, or to even be able to change which meal it was for, but because I cant this us an issue.
The search is tiring to use. Why is the search this heavily dependent on word order over relevance? I typed in, "green beans" and the first set of results were baby food (??? I wasnt even searching through packaged/restaurant foods), and only found green beans once I thought to type, "string beans." Same issue: why cant I just type in "bell pepper?" That also gave me no search results. Why, when searching my favorites, cant I search for a word inside of a phrase to find it? (This only seems to work when using any other food search besides Favorites.) I tried to type in "sausage" but the search wouldnt pull it up because the item is entered as "mild Italian sausage" in my favorites.
"Recently viewed" is not nearly as useful as "Recently eaten" would be, for me. There are also certain entries which I select over others, because one has a more accurate means of measurement, so its annoying to have to find the entry with the measurements I prefer again. (If I have to choose between measuring grams or measuring cups and tbsp, Im gonna pick cups/tbsp every time.) I DO appreciate the different types of preparation, however (I.e. Having grated carrots vs chopped, or cucumber slices vs. a whole one).
I wont count this against the app, but in places where wireless is bad, its impossible to add food without the app hanging for a long time. Itd be nice to at least reference my history or some set of data thats locally stored while the rest of the results load.
Using this should just be easier. I want to go back to using Lose It, but feel obligated to use Carb Manager for at least some amount of time, because I paid for it.
