Carb Manager—Keto Diet Tracker App Reviews

Great

Using this app for the ketogenic diet, still in the first stages but compared to other apps Ive investigated this one is working really well. The only thing I would add to it would be the option to add to the data base for bar code scanning. Its easy to create custom foods, and the favorites option makes for quick and easy entering. Overall a great app.

Great App But Lacks Canadian Content

This app is easy to use, its clean (not full of ads), and lets you customize pretty much everything. It is however missing Canadian restaurants and products. The other thing I dont like is having to pay for an iPhone app for $3.99 and then paying for the same app on iPad for $6.99. To top it off, it seems that in order to sync multiple devices, generate reports, or do any sort of analysis, you need to purchase an additional annual subscription of $19.99/yr. The fact that I paid for a full app but dont get all of the features without buying an annual subscription, irks me. I will not be forking out any more money to unlock all of the features. This is why Im giving this app three stars.

Carb manager

Love it has so many feature Wish it had a blood sugar/ insulin tracker

Best app for watching carbs/calories!

I use this app everyday to track my eating. It took a little while to figure out how to use it properly... But now I can input items blindfolded. Im down almost 50 pounds in the last 10 weeks... And this app has been a big help!

Such a great app

I really appreciate this easy-to-use, ad-free app. Thanks so much!

The best, user friendly weightloss Ap

Carb Manager has been easy to navigate and use to assist me make good choices. It tracks total and net carbs for you. Ive tried other Aps, but this is my fave

Great app for carb tracking

Only downfall is some foods dont show up with bar code scan

Good but

It really needs some updates to its menu. I mean seriously hamburger with no bun? Among other things a bar code scanner that does anything?

Great app for tracking net carbs

I find it easy to use. Works well and helps keep me on track. Customizable options.

Ketotastic

Excellent and easy to use app. Helped me start and keep a ketogenic diet and stay on track each day.

Great app

You cant discount for sugar alcohols when figuring out net carbs. You have to add them the fiber count instead. A minor issue for a great app.

Not much in database

I could not find even basic foods, or store bought brands. I did not bother further.

Easy carb counter

Really impressed with this app. Its a lot better than the actual Atkins app. Foods are easy to find and its easy to log your food

Good breakdown, but the rest could be smoother

Good breakdown of nutrients, which is what I got it for, but everything else is frustrating. Cant add a previously eaten meal, and Im tired of having to scan a bar code for a food that I scanned earlier the same day (I guess I have to remember to add EVERY single thing I scan to Favorites? Sigh). VERY tedious. Also frustrating when Im already viewing a meal for the day, trying to log food (I stay up/work late), and its past midnight so it automatically logs the meal to the "current" day (which is a new day for me). If Im viewing Saturday, and logging food, it shouldnt be logging it for Sunday! It would be helpful to just change the day that a food is logged, or to even be able to change which meal it was for, but because I cant this us an issue. The search is tiring to use. Why is the search this heavily dependent on word order over relevance? I typed in, "green beans" and the first set of results were baby food (??? I wasnt even searching through packaged/restaurant foods), and only found green beans once I thought to type, "string beans." Same issue: why cant I just type in "bell pepper?" That also gave me no search results. Why, when searching my favorites, cant I search for a word inside of a phrase to find it? (This only seems to work when using any other food search besides Favorites.) I tried to type in "sausage" but the search wouldnt pull it up because the item is entered as "mild Italian sausage" in my favorites. "Recently viewed" is not nearly as useful as "Recently eaten" would be, for me. There are also certain entries which I select over others, because one has a more accurate means of measurement, so its annoying to have to find the entry with the measurements I prefer again. (If I have to choose between measuring grams or measuring cups and tbsp, Im gonna pick cups/tbsp every time.) I DO appreciate the different types of preparation, however (I.e. Having grated carrots vs chopped, or cucumber slices vs. a whole one). I wont count this against the app, but in places where wireless is bad, its impossible to add food without the app hanging for a long time. Itd be nice to at least reference my history or some set of data thats locally stored while the rest of the results load. Using this should just be easier. I want to go back to using Lose It, but feel obligated to use Carb Manager for at least some amount of time, because I paid for it.

Great tool

This app has really helped me to stay on track. I love how it figures the net carbs for you and the barcode scan feature is easy to use so almost every food can be entered without searching for the item. I have recommended to friends and coworkers who are now using the app as well. 5 days in and 3 pounds lost so far. Just do it!

Not worth the $

Very disappointing

Pay to pay

So I just paid $3 to pay $20 to get the full features? Why even pay in the first place?

GREAT APP

Love this app. Been using it for over a yr. very easy to use. Especially when you are on a low carb high fat diet. Really easy to see % of food you are eating.

Love the app!

This is a great app. Im a carboholic, so I really need to keep track of my carbs. Its easy to use. I havent paid for the upgrade, but it looks good so someone whos super serious about keeping track.

Inconsistent

Updated 10/21/16 Loses favorites and frequently eaten items (they show in the list but read as null when you try to enter, so no data actually shows). And now search feature doesnt work at all. I complained about this before to their support email -- no response. Even paid for the bigger membership and still get no customer service. Cmon, guys. You can do better. --- Only thing I dont care for is the barcode scan doesnt always match the label of my product - total and net carbs will be higher. Other than that, this is the only app that successfully got me to track my food intake.
